To use, simply extend the length of the pole to the required size, typically 1.2"-2" longer than the door or window. Thread the curtain through the rod, secure one end, and angle the other end at 45 degrees before pushing it up to be parallel with the surface. The greater the friction against the wall and the shorter the extension, the better the overall performance.
